Every story needs a villain. This one is hers.

Erebos is Theeson's father, older and harder. He acts first and asks no questions later.

He is cruel, and he likes it. Erebos doesn’t hurt people because he has to. He hurts them because he enjoys it.

He wants the throne. Erebos is ambitious the way fire is hot. He was born beside power and raised in a king’s shadow, and he has no intention of standing behind someone else’s crown.

Everyone is a piece on his board. Useful, or in the way. There is no third category, and he has no qualms about removing the pieces that stop being useful.

So what is he? A monster, a mastermind, or something else entirely? You decide.

The Importance of Reading Comprehension

  Suppose your child is brilliant at crunching numbers and can memorize facts like nobody’s business, but they aren’t making much headway on their reading comprehension scores. And maybe you’ve been thinking, “What’s the big deal?”    And I am here to tell you that reading comprehension may not seem very important now, but will make learning increasingly difficult as the child gets older if they show little to no improvement.    All information is passed on from teacher (or parent) to the child through language. If the child does not fully comprehend what they are hearing, then they do not obtain the knowledge that a teacher is attempting to pass on to them. How to Build a Sandcastle (Poem)

Did you visit the beach or play in a sand box this summer? Recall those sweet memories as you enjoy this poem together. (text)   How to Build a Sandcastle By Brandi Peterson A sandy beach is a perfect spot, for building up your castle plot. Get a bucket and a shovel. Fill it up and pack it level. Now, turn it over really fast. Lift it gently to make a cast. Repeat the process one by one, until the sandy work is done. Decorate it with twigs and shells. Populate it with crabs and snails.
