Meet Capel Sirius, Chairman of the Council

🏛️ MEET CAPEL SIRIUS 🏛️

Steady. Principled. Unshakable. That's Capel Sirius.

Capel is Chairman of the Sylphar council, and the closest thing Princess Ariadne has to a father figure. In a court full of schemes and shifting loyalties, he is the steady voice in the room, the one who says what is right even when it costs him.

What makes Capel who he is:

He is steady. When everyone else is reacting, Capel is thinking, and his counsel has steadied Ariadne more times than she can count.

He is principled. He does not bend for convenience or applause. What is right is right, and he stands on it.

He is unshakable. Pressure, politics, danger, none of it moves him off his ground.

He is family, in the way that counts. Not by blood, but by choice, by showing up, by being the grandfather figure Ariadne leans on when the crown gets heavy.

In a court full of schemes, who do you trust?

Today is the first day of fall! Who is ready for pumpkin pies and pumpkin spiced lattes and pumpkin scented candles and pumpkin... Okay, you get the idea, I love pumpkin EVERYTHING! Text I Love Fall by Brandi Peterson authorbrandipeterson.blogspot.com Whether you’re tall, Or whether you’re small, Everyone can appreciate the season of fall. The leaves change their lovely hues, As trees begin the season’s snooze. The squirrels scurry to collect their seeds, To store them up for winter feeds. The mums burst with blooms so bright, To paint the hillside, a dazzling sight! Momma makes some pumpkin pie. She loves fall, and so do I! If you enjoy my poems, you'll LOVE my book! The Importance of Reading Comprehension

Suppose your child is brilliant at crunching numbers and can memorize facts like nobody’s business, but they aren’t making much headway on their reading comprehension scores. And maybe you’ve been thinking, “What’s the big deal?”    And I am here to tell you that reading comprehension may not seem very important now, but will make learning increasingly difficult as the child gets older if they show little to no improvement.    All information is passed on from teacher (or parent) to the child through language. If the child does not fully comprehend what they are hearing, then they do not obtain the knowledge that a teacher is attempting to pass on to them. There are also numerous studies that link poor language development to behavior issues. Here is one such study: http://www.child-encyclopedia.com/language-development-and-literacy/according-experts/literacy-outcome-language-development-and-its As you can read from this study, there is a...

Did you visit the beach or play in a sand box this summer? Recall those sweet memories as you enjoy this poem together. (text)   How to Build a Sandcastle By Brandi Peterson A sandy beach is a perfect spot, for building up your castle plot. Get a bucket and a shovel. Fill it up and pack it level. Now, turn it over really fast. Lift it gently to make a cast. Repeat the process one by one, until the sandy work is done. Decorate it with twigs and shells. Populate it with crabs and snails. Stand beside it and say “Cheese!” Mommy wants a picture, please! If you enjoy my poems, you'll LOVE my book!
