In honor of Grandparent's Day, I have a written a poem dedicated to grandparents everywhere!




Text

Grandparents That Fill Us
by Brandi Peterson

We’re headed to Grandpa and Grandma’s place
I cannot wait to arrive
They’ll greet me with a warm embrace
Before we go inside.
Grandma will have fresh cookies waiting there on the table.
Grandpa will have fresh “dad jokes”
Or he’ll tell me a silly fable.
We might play our favorite games like checkers or dominoes
Or just listen to the summer rain
On the porch while swinging slow.
Whatever we do together, our visits are always special
For I’ve noticed that by the time we part
Their love has filled my vessel.

Coming Back to My Senses

It all started... So, I am currently recovering from the "Rona" that plagued my home these past couple of weeks. I don't mind telling you that I was not vaccinated, even though that is going to invite a TON of backlash. But here's the thing, my symptoms were not too severe. I had a temperature of 99.5 for 24 hours, then I was sleepy and congested for a week and I lost my sense of taste and smell. (It's still gone.) My husband, on the other hand, is a government employee. He had no intention of getting vaccinated until he received a letter basically saying he can get the jab or lose his job. So out of his love for our family and not wanting to risk our only source of income, he went and got the vaccine. Three weeks later, he was diagnosed with covid 19 pneumonia. He was the one who needed a week of breathing treatments and steroids and antibiotics to get well. I started feeling bad a few days after he did. I Love Fall: Poem

Today is the first day of fall! Who is ready for pumpkin pies and pumpkin spiced lattes and pumpkin scented candles and pumpkin... Okay, you get the idea, I love pumpkin EVERYTHING! To celebrate the autumnal equinox today, I have a new illustrated poem for you called "I Love Fall". Chip and Blip (poem for kids)

Here's a fun little poem I wrote back in high school about a couple of silly aliens who's friendship gets a little stressed when they go on an adventure together. Enjoy this silly rhyme! As with all my poems, you are welcome to share and use however you wish as long as you do not remove my name.  (text) Chip and Blip By Brandi Peterson I know a Zip, his name is Chip. He went on a fieldtrip in a spaceship. Chip brought his friend Blip on the trip. And together, they made a comic strip. On the trip they ate a chicken strip Dunked in bean dip Stirred with catnip. Chip and Blip’s friendship suffered hardship. Chip put Blip through a guilt trip Because Blip hit Chip with a whip. They won a championship For their comic strip And got a scholarship To the Space Ship University. On their return trip Blip got a stiff upper lip when Chip hit him with a poker chip. After the field trip on the spaceship They stayed in fellowship
